ABSENCE OF OXIDATIVE STRESS AND SIRTUINS RECRUITMENT ON CARDIAC TISSUE POST STRESS

چکیده

Stress has emerged as a factor associated with cardiovascular disease. Catecholamines released during the stress reaction by sympathetic nerves and adrenal medulla couple to β1-and β2-adrenoceptors in cardiomyocytes membrane enhancing heart function order attend organism demand. This might produce excessive reactive oxygen species what may culminate oxidative progression of several cardiac diseases. Sirtuins have been described cardioprotective factors important regulators cellular response heart. The aim this work is investigate putative participation sirtuins rats submitted foot shock stress, an experimental model where there up regulation downregulation β1-adrenoceptors. data shown that myocardium H2O2 concentration, catalase superoxide dismutase activity, NAD+/NADH ratio, well protein expression 1 3 were not altered. Pharmacological blockade ICI118,551, did modify scenario. It concluded does cause disruptions or redox state processes myocardium, consequently, are recruited response.

Effects of Caloric Restriction on Cardiac Oxidative Stress and Mitochondrial Bioenergetics: Potential Role of Cardiac Sirtuins

The biology of aging has not been fully clarified, but the free radical theory of aging is one of the strongest aging theories proposed to date. The free radical theory has been expanded to the oxidative stress theory, in which mitochondria play a central role in the development of the aging process because of their critical roles in bioenergetics, oxidant production, and regulation of cell dea...

Effect of Transient Congenital Hypothyroidism on Oxidative Stress in Cardiac Tissue of Adult Male Rats

Introduction: Increased oxidative stress is involved in the pathology of cardiovascular disease. Transient congenital hypothyroidism (TCH) leads to a variety of heart disorders during adulthood. In this study, the effect of TCH on antioxidant and oxidant systems in the serum and left cardiac ventricle of adult male rats was investigated. Materials and Methods: TCH was induced by administrating ...

Potential Modulation of Sirtuins by Oxidative Stress

Sirtuins are a conserved family of NAD-dependent protein deacylases. Initially proposed as histone deacetylases, it is now known that they act on a variety of proteins including transcription factors and metabolic enzymes, having a key role in the regulation of cellular homeostasis. Seven isoforms are identified in mammals (SIRT1-7), all of them sharing a conserved catalytic core and showing di...

The sirtuins, oxidative stress and aging: an emerging link

Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are a family of compounds that can oxidatively damage cellular macromolecules and may influence lifespan. Sirtuins are a conserved family of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+)-dependent protein deacetylases that regulate lifespan in many model organisms including yeast and mice. Recent work suggests that sirtuins can modulate ROS levels notably during a dieta...

Adrenergic signaling and oxidative stress: a role for sirtuins?

The adrenergic system plays a central role in stress signaling and stress is often associated with increased production of ROS. However, ROS overproduction generates oxidative stress, that occurs in response to several stressors. β-adrenergic signaling is markedly attenuated in conditions such as heart failure, with downregulation and desensitization of the receptors and their uncoupling from a...
